ABOUT SOVEREIGN GRACE

The word Primitive means, "first or earliest of its kind;" "original." Sovereign Grace is dedicated to maintaining the simplicity of the doctrine and practice of the early church as taught by Jesus and the Apostles.

We believe that God created the heavens and the earth, and all things therein, and for his pleasure they are and were created, and that He rules over His creation absolutely, being sovereign in both salvation and providence.

We believe that man exists for the glory of God, and therefore strive to maintain this God-centered emphasis in all that we do.

We hold Scripture, which is the "Word of God" in high esteem. Believing in the sufficiency of Scripture characterizes our church. God gave us the Scriptures by His Spirit, and they are profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness that we may be perfect, and completely furnished unto all good works. We are committed to the proclamation of the gospel by God’s grace, and the power of the Holy Spirit, that lives may be changed, and sinners turned to God. We believe that the gospel, the message of salvation by the grace of God, is a message for sinners, and to those whose eyes have been opened to see the sinfulness of their sins, is this message "good news."

We believe that devotion to the Lord Jesus Christ, and mutual love and fellowship to one another is of utmost importance. To the believer Jesus Christ is most precious (1Pe 2:7), because of what he has done for them in saving them from their sins, and delivering them from wrath to come. Therefore, in honor to Him we emphasize a Christ-centered worship, and obedience to His command of loving one another as he has loved us.
